
About the Program
The NICU training module teaches essential newborn care, including feeding low-birth-weight babies, supporting Kangaroo Mother Care, and handling breastfeeding challenges. Students learn to identify sick newborns, communicate effectively with families, and assist with basic NICU procedures like IV cannulation, ROP exams, and bed preparation. The program combines practical skills with compassionate care for both infants and mothers

Graduates of this program are prepared for roles such as:
- NICU Assistant / Support Staff

Course Completion
- Year 1: Includes 6 months of theory classes followed by 6 months of hands-on practice. During this period, students will receive monthly stipends provided by the Extra Mile Foundation with support from Infosys.
- Year 2: Students will undertake an internship at Rainbow Hospital (same branch), where stipends will be provided by Rainbow Management.
- Upon successful completion of Year 1 and Year 2, students will be awarded a course completion certificate.
- From Year 3 onwards: Rainbow Management will offer placements to these professionally certified health workers at any of their branches across India.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Gender: Open exclusively to girls.
- Background: Must come from economically underprivileged families.
- Education: Successfully completed SSC (10th grade) with a minimum aggregate of 50% or above.
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 to 20 years old.
- Location: Candidates should be sourced through orphanages or NGOs based in Hyderabad.
Mode of Selection
- Candidates will be selected through a written test followed by a personal interview.
- The entire course is offered free of cost to selected students.
- A monthly stipend will be provided during the training and service period.
- Uniforms (shoes and dress) will be supplied to all trainees.
- Accommodation and meals will be arranged at the Rainbow Hospital Nursing Hostel to ensure a safe and supportive living environment.
